I have started a Gofundme campaign

I want/need to improve my drawing skills. Specifically, my botanical art skills. To achieve this, I desire to go to the Denver Botanic Gardens and take a botanical illustration class. While I'm not a complete slouch when it comes to drawing.

If you cannot afford to make a donation, it is extremely helpful to me if you share this on your blog, or social media sites. Thank you in advance or any and all help.

W.I.P. botanical art

I'm putting together a botanical art piece using a calla lily plant I purchased at the grocery store. I have two photos for you to compare. One is my first attempt. The second photo contains an additional flower and changes that I made to the first flower. I'm very pleased with the second attempt. It shows more of the turn over on the petal's outer edge and it is closer to the actual size of the flower.
It can take more than one attempt to get everything just right in a page layout. Don't give up. Walk away for a bit, or a day or two, if you need to but keep at it. Don't end on a low note or you could become too discouraged to continue.

One of the things I plan to do when I transfer the image to the paper I plan to use (Arches HP 140lb) is to place the leaf farther to the left so that more of it is under the flower. No 'kissing' edges allowed. One of the things I'm planning on doing for the final project is to have part of it only in graphite.
What are you working on?

Grape line drawing

A small line drawing of black grapes. I may end up doing more with it but for now, I'm loving it's simplicity.
